It was Children's Day last Monday. Today, we went to the English corner and shared with our American friend, Jim, how we celebrated our Children's Day this year.
Lucy（林靖怡） went to a park with her friends, because she loves outdoor activities. Robin（趙民駿） did not go out on that day, but he was given extra time playing computer games and he received a lovely toy from his parents. Wow, not bad at all!
As for me, I told Jim that I went to the Mixc City(南寧萬象城) with my friends. We had really good time there, skiing, eating hamburgers and drinking coffee. To our surprise, I also ran across some other friends, they seemed to have a lot of fun too.
Jim told us when he was young, people did not celebrate Children's Day in America. Luckily, children in America now can have their Children's Day, it is on June 3rd each year. On this day, children in some parts of America may go to churches, have funny games or even a picnic.
We also talked about Children's day in other countries, such as Singapore and New Zealand. In Auckland this year, they had a fun fair on the ASB Show-grounds for children. Entries were free. What’s more, children could have free candy floss and face painting was free too. They could watch live performances, ride on ponies, try the racing cars and other fun games. How fun!
I told Jim that I liked ferry wheels the best. I think it is especially exciting. Then I added, “I wish I were there in Auckland.”
"Oh, I wish I were there, too."Jim smiled and said.

有一天，爸爸收到一份廣告，上面說人才中心要舉辦艾斯通英語培訓(xùn)班，由老外任教。3月13日，老外在人才中心上公開課，那天上午，爸爸征求了我的意見后，帶著我去聽公開課。
上課了，進來了兩個女老師。爸爸告訴我，那個金發(fā)碧眼個子很高的便是老外，旁邊那個是中國老師，她是老外的助教，在課堂教學(xué)中幫助老外和我們溝通。老外不會說中文，她首先用英語作了自我介紹，接著教我們每個人都用英語說“mynameis……”。那天老外上課的主要內(nèi)容是人的五官和身體的主要部位，她將這些單詞用圖形掛在黑板上，并要求我們每個人走到講臺上和她一起邊做動作邊讀。開始，我有些讀音發(fā)不準，但老外一點都不煩，她耐心地教我很多遍，直到我讀準確為止。當同學(xué)們讀會這些單詞后，老外把我們?nèi)冀械街v臺上，圍成一個圈，由她指著自己身體的`部位讀，如果對了，我們也用手指著自己身體同樣的部位跟著讀；如果錯了，看我們誰反應(yīng)快，糾正老外的“錯誤”。這個游戲很好玩，同學(xué)們都踴躍參與，課堂氣氛很濃。游戲結(jié)束后，老外還興致勃勃地教我們學(xué)唱英文歌……
老外教英語，真是有趣，她的公開課讓我對英語好象有了點興趣。老外的名字叫瑪麗婭，一個澳大利亞人，跟她學(xué)英語我很快樂。

Here is the bright side of my university life: Firstly, Equipment of my university is advanced and teacher team is powerful. There is an advanced library that owns all kinds of books. So we can acquire a lot of knowledge from my university. Secondly, all sorts of lectures are given on campus. We can learn much knowledge that is interesting. Thirdly, my
campus activities are rich and colorful. Such as sports meets, speech contests, different social gatherings and dancing parties provide opportunities to make friends. What’s more, my dormitory life is very harmonious. Dormitory life is an important part of my university life. On the one hand, we can have a good rest and put our heart into study. On the other hand, we will have a good mood and enjoy being together.
This is the dark side of my university life: Firstly, there is only one dining room in my university. So we often need to wait in a long line, which waste much time. Everyday is always fixed cuisine types, which make our appetites depressed. Secondly, self-study room is not enough. Now we will soon take final exam. So it is difficult to find a self-study room. What’s more, network of my university is very unstable. It is difficult to search
literature in my dormitory, which waste too much time.In short, I am quite satisfied with my university life, but there is still some room for improvement. I am convinced that my university life will become better and better.

Generation gap between parents and children
Nowadays , there are more and more misunderstanding between parents and children which is so- called generation gap . It is estimated that (75 percentages of parents often complain their children‘s unreasonable behavior while children usually think their parents too old fashioned).
Why have there been so much misunderstanding between parents and children?Maybe the reasons can be listed as follows . The first one is that ( the two generations,having grown up at different times, have different likes and dislikes ,thus the disagreement often rises between them) . Besides(due to having little in common to talk about , they are not willing to sit face to face ) .
