They greet each other “Happy New Year” and “Happy Spring Festival” and invite guests to drink tea and chat at their home.
There are a plethora (過量)of activities during the Spring Festival including opera and movie performances lion dances and temple fairs. There are also people who prefer to stay at home and watch television. Pasting New Year scrolls and watching festive lanterns are also the traditional movements for the Spring Festival celebration.
The ways of Spring Festival celebration are changing along with the standard of living. For instance， traveling has becoming a new fashion of Spring Festival celebration.

The festival is to commemorate a great patriotic poet of China—— Qu Yuan. It falls on the fifth day of the fifth month in lunar calendar.
There is the customs of eating Zongzi and racing dragon-boat on Dragon Boat Festival. Zongzi is a pyramid-shaped dumpling made of glutinous rice and wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves to give it a special flavor. We put mugwort on the door to ward off evil, and it has insect repellent function.
Children wear bracelet made by seven colored strings until the first rain after the festival, they should throw the strings into puddle.

Therefore, in my opinion, it’s a normal phenomenon s well as a necessary trend.
現(xiàn)在，有一種現(xiàn)象是，西方的風(fēng)俗習(xí)慣在東方一步一步地蔓延，使許多生活在大城市的居民喜歡在圣誕節(jié)、四月愚人節(jié)等西方節(jié)日。這種現(xiàn)象表明，世界人民正在逐漸接近，世界也變得越來越小。因此，在我看來，這是一種正�，F(xiàn)象，也是一種必然趨勢。
First of all, it shows that we Chinese have become much opener rather than clinging to some very old customs, which are opposite our living. Looking back on the history, we can find the answer to why our China was very poor and weak in the 1800’s. Yes, the answer is that we closed ourselves not to let other countries know about us, and this led us to a very hard road on which we suffered many wars that many European countries launched. So I think it is more than necessary to accept other customs instead of closing ourselves. Of course, festivals are just the beginning.
