　　the game was scheduled to start at start at eight o’clock on friday night. long before that, people began to arrive at the gymnasium.

　　by seven-thirty the seats were almost filled. the school band was there; they wore yellow and black uniforms. they started to play at about a quarter to eight. everybody stood up, and the people sang. the game was about to start. two teams ran out to the floor. the referee blew his whistle, and the game started. a basketball game is divided into two halves, and each half is divided into two quarters. there is a rest period between the halves. during the first five minutes of the second half, the score was tied. from then on, the game was very exciting. first one team made a basket, then the other. the people cheered, and everybody was wondering which team was going to win.

　　the ball hit the rim of the basket and seemed to hang there for a moment, and then it fell through the basket. the whistle blew and the game was over. home team won, 70 to 68.

　　去年暑假，我、三個同學和家長一行去青島，參加 “外研通杯新概念英語大賽�！�

　　晚上，所有的選手進行了抽簽，我們被分在了a組，田瀟樂18號，我24號，張婉琳28號，孟心語36號�；氐劫e館，我們幾個就感到有點緊張的氣氛了，有的同學就拿出相關的書來背起來，有的裝著若無其事的樣子，但從她的行動上還是能看出一點點異樣來。

　　第二天早上七點30分，正式開始比賽，一走進200多平方米的比賽大廳，媽呀，早已人山人海，有點水泄不通。

　　比賽開始了，一號選手是一個小男孩，他在自我介紹時有點慌張，背課文時，支支吾吾很不流利，當評委提問時，竟然連小孩都會的問題都答不出來了，在表演完后差不多是哭著下臺的。我們更加感到緊張，趕緊準備起來，家長見狀，只好給我們打氣：“孩子，不要害怕，我們能來到這里，就是最棒的，重在參與。”這種聲音一直回蕩在我們的耳邊……

　　時間過的好快，不一會兒，該田瀟樂上場了！我緊張的眼珠快要掉出來了，還好，她在臺上顯得鎮(zhèn)定自若，背完課文后，回答問題和才藝展示后，大大方方的走下臺。我高興地跑過去，并說道：“田瀟樂！你太棒了！”她又欣喜地說，謝啦，但快到你了，快準備吧。我高亢的心情又一下子跌落到谷底�！�19號、20號、21號、22號、23號、24號！’該我了！我的天！這咋就這么快呢，我的`手呦，別再冰冷；我的腿呦，別再顫抖！我還是磕磕拌拌的上臺了。

　　oh,my gad!當時我面對著這么多的眼睛，心跳都快要停住了！先是一番自我介紹，本來想講得眉飛色舞，誰知，腦子一片空白，下文呢？忘了！只好來了個“自我拯救”——自己現編吧，結果效果還是不好，說了好幾遍“i’m sorry.”哼，氣死我了！接下來是現場抽簽背課文，“開始�！薄皊top！”哈哈，天助我也，我抽到了我最拿手的課文，“now i will bigan!……”課文順利背完了，該評委問了，因本人緊張過度，也像第一位那樣：沒能回答問題，我心里又沒有數了，心情到‘大慌特慌’的程度了。還好，接下來，是我比較拿手的才藝展示，一番熱舞后，得到了一片掌聲，也算是給了我一點點的心理安慰吧。

　　所有的比賽結束了，公布成績時，我們沒有進全國賽，真的感到好遺憾。我想了好久，終于明白了一個道理：機會對于每個人都是均等的，有的人抓住了，并做好充分的準備，迎接他們的就是鮮花與掌聲，而我，卻沒有做到，結局就是這樣的了！

　　Modern clothes are definitely more practical as against traditional clothes.Almost all people now wear modern clothes.Nowadays even more and more people wear casual clothes.Jeans are everywhere except at formal parties.T-shirts are common,too.They look comfortable and fashionable.However,there are also a lot of people who take the trouble to dress well in formal clothes like shirts,trousers and suits.I find them smart,too.

　　But then,it is important to hold on to our topic.In my opinion,each type of dress has its place.Modern clothes are ideal for most situations,while casual clothes are worn more freely.As to traditional clothes,they must be worn for special occasions

　　主持人宣布比賽開始了。原本熱鬧非凡的大廳立刻安靜了下來。大家都屏住呼吸，等待著選手們精彩、生動的表演。選手們有的信心十足，昂首挺胸地走上臺；有的摩拳擦掌準備上臺展示自己的絕技：有的`一刻不停地默默背誦參賽內容……

　　“請13號選手做好準備！”我耳邊響起主持人的聲音，不禁打了個寒顫�！笆裁�，這么快就到我們了，不會吧？”我和楊絲雨硬著頭皮走上臺，望著臺下無數雙眼睛，面對我班同學鼓勵的微笑，我不停地安慰自己：同學們都看著你，不能給班級丟臉啊！”可是。我的腦子太不爭氣了，連第一句臺詞都拋到九霄云外了。怎么辦？怎么辦？正當我心急如焚時，耳邊響起了楊絲雨的聲音，原來，第一句是我和楊絲雨一起說的，我大大地松了口氣。緊接著，我們流利地講著準備好的英語故事，一切順利。當我們的表演結束時，大廳里熱烈的掌聲使我感到一絲放松。下臺后，我才發(fā)現，我的腿竟然還在不停地微微顫抖。

　　可是跟比賽僅一天時間,馬流暢很難把稿子讀的既流利又有感情,還加上動作,老師不得不把馬流暢去掉。

　　現在只剩我和申紫涵,好害怕呀!

　　終于到了比賽的一天,我們的`“戰(zhàn)地”是市二中。到了那里,我更加緊張了,可當我看到三位評委和藹可親的微笑時,卻放松了很多。

　　“二號選手,麻雨露”“啊,輪到我了”我心里更慌了 ,這時,坐在我一旁的英語老師鼓勵我,說:“別怕,相信自己,你最棒!”

　　我鼓起勇氣,走上臺開始演講。因為我是二號選手,后面還有很多同學,所以我們等了很長時間才結束,出來時我的腿都發(fā)軟了,可老師卻說,這次比賽不是為了拿獎,而是為了鍛煉我們的勇氣,當然,拿獎最好,但那些都是次要的!

　　誰也沒有想到,我竟然晉級了,老師又給我一篇稿子,我現在正在認認真真的背稿子。我相信通過我的努力我還會再晉級的!
