In the recent, it is reported that students commitsuicides after school authorities make publicannouncement of disciplinary measures againstthose culprits violating certain school regulations.Oftentimes, those culprits’ parents would sueschools for compensations. No matter how muchmoney they are compensated, it can not change the fact that the dead students are not toregenerate. Some educationalists hence suggestthat public announcement of disciplinarymeasures be abolished. They argue that students are fragile in psychology for they are theonly children and usually get too much protection from families. But should theyget away withpunishments? I do not think so.

Firstly, as students have already borne in their mind the consequences that if they breakcertain school regulations, they must take the responsibility. They should accept any duepunishments. I do not believe that those students have no idea of what those regulations areor any previous regulation enforcements. Generally speaking, they are repeatedly told not tobreach school norms and regulations by their head teachers and parents. Before students sitcertain exams, they will be reminded again of disposing of any materialrelevant toexaminations. They will also be informed what consequences they are to bear if they don’tconform to the regulations. Therefore, if they still intend to break norms and regulations, theymust accept any forms of punishment without complaints. Otherwise, norms and regulationswould have no bonding effects.

Secondly, the purpose of public announcement of disciplinary measures is to help thoseculprits by supervision of the public. As people tend to hold their mistakes from being revealedto other people, they actually avoid acknowledging their mistakes and are unwilling to correctthem. After the publication of their mistakes, culprits would be judged by their classmates, friends and teachers, and hence they can be imposed pressures not to err again. Without thepublication, as those culprits may regard school authorities as lenient, they can get away withlight punishments. It is more likely that they would err in the same manner.

In a word, the public announcement of disciplinary measures means to help those culprits, instead of punishing them for the punishment’s sake. Some culprits may be not ready to acceptthe criticism after the public announcement is made. If this is the case, why do they not take awhile to decide whether it is worthwhile to make these mistakes? Isn’t it irresponsible thatthey make mistakes and want to get away with duepunishments?

In this memorandum, the vice president of Road Food suggests that the company motivate its advertising agency to perform better by basing the agencys pay on the Road Foods profits. In support of this suggestion, the vice president points out that although Road Food initially thought the ad agency was following company recommendations, competitor-Street Eats earned higher profits last year. The vice president also notes that Street Eats has fewer restaurants than Road Food, and that Road Food spent nearly as much money on advertising as Street Eats did. This argument is unconvincing, since it relies on dubious assumptions and comparisons.

First, the vice president assumes that the ad campaign caused the low profits. However, the vice president ignores many other factors that contribute to profitability. In particular, the fact that Road Food has been spending less advertising money per restaurant than Street Eats suggests that its unwillingness to spend more may be the main reason for disappointing profits.

Second, the author implies that the ad agency failed to implement Road Foods guidelines, and that this failure was the reason for disappointing profits. However, it is equally possible that the ad agency faithfully followed all suggestions from Road Food, and that those suggestions were the cause of the disappointing profits. In this respect, the author unfairly shifts blame from Road Food to the ad agency.

As a child-and as an adult as well-Bill was untidy. It has been said that in order to counteract this. Mary drew up weekly clothing plans for him. On Mondays he might go to school in blue, on Tuesdays in green, on Wednesdays in brown , on Thursdays in black, and so on , Weekend meal schedules might also be planned in detail. Everything time, at work or during his leisure time.

Dinner table discussions in the Gates family home were always lively and educational. It was a rich environment in which to learn, Bill remembered.

Bills contemporaries, even at the age, recognized that he was exceptional. Every year, he and his friends would go to summer camp. Bill especially liked swimming and other sports. One of his summer camp friends recalled, He was never a nerd or a goof or the kind of kid you didnt want your team. We all knew Bill was smarter than us. Even back then, when he was nine or ten years old, he talked like an adult and could express himself in ways that none of us understood.

Bill was also well ahead of his classmates in mathematics and science. He needed to go to a school that challenged him to Lakeside-an all-boys school for exceptional students. It was Seattles most exclusive school and was noted for its rigorous academic demands, a place where even the dumb kids were smart.

Lakeside allowed students to pursue their own interests, to whatever extent they wished. The school prided itself on making conditions and facilities available that would enable all its students to reach their full potential . It was the ideal environment for someone like Bill Gates.

  第二招:銜接流暢。恰當(dāng)使用邏輯詞語(yǔ),使各要點(diǎn)間連貫,行文通順。比如表并列或遞進(jìn): and, both…and, neither…nor, not only…but also;表選擇:or, either…or; 表轉(zhuǎn)折或讓步:but, although, though, however, even though, in spite of, on the contrary; 表對(duì)比:like, unlike, while; 表舉例:for example, such as, that’s to say; 表強(qiáng)調(diào):in fact, of course, besides; 表時(shí)間順序:when, after, before, as soon as, soon after; 表因果關(guān)系:because, since, as, for, for this reason,as a resu< 表結(jié)論:in a word, to sum up. In summary, in conclusion, on the whole;

There be…;the more…the more…;It’s adj for sb to do something;I think/believe/suppose…(賓從); It can’t be put into real experiment。

I want to be a good father because my daddy was always so busy when I was a little boy.He had no time with me and my mum… I really enjoy the beauty of the sea in the sun。

Pollution is becoming more and more serious all over the world. As is shown in the cartoon, two cars are giving off waste gas and three people are trying to avoid breathing in the poisonous gas by masking their face with their hands. The poisonous gas sent off by factories, domestic appliances and automobiles has made the air unhealthy for people to breathe.

There is no denying that automobiles are indications of civilization, progreand development; neverthele, automobiles cause the serious problem of air pollution. Scientists have warned that unleeffective measures are taken, the problem of pollution will eventually get out of hand. Actually, people are showing a real concern over the problem. For example, there is an increasingly loud voice from the public for firm action against pollution from automobiles.

Indeed, the earth is our home and we have the duty to take care of it for ourselves and for our descendants. In my opinion, we should work out concrete solutions to the problem of pollution from poisonous gas given off by automobiles. For example, the automobiles should be equipped with a device which can dispose of waste gas so as to prevent it from polluting air. Only in this way can we really solve the problem of air pollution caused by automobiles.

The cartoon presents the Earth with a personified human face that seems quite unhappy. A examination of the picture immediately reveals that the source of its mood is the air pollution resulting from a huge number of automobiles spread around its surf-ace.

The cartoon, no doubt, aims at alarming humans of the heavy load we have exerted on Earth by our insatiable production and usage of automobiles. However, the majority of people merely indulge in the celebration of the convenience brought by cars, while forgetting or simply neglecting their harmful impact on the atmosphere. Admittedly, there are various factors contributing to the current worldwide air pollution, but it is undeniable that the exhaust from automobiles is categorized as one of the major elements.

I would like to make the following proposals to solve this problem: firstly, we should apply the most cutting-edge technologies in order to adopt new forms of energy as substitutes for fossil fuels. It should also be guaranteed that the clean energy be inexpensive so that it can be widely accepted. Besides, there should be attempts to develop possible transportation means, so that citizens can be diverted from dependence on cars. In short, it is humans' responsibility to resume clean air for Earth.

The tale is mainly about the revolution in France, though the author wrote quitea lot about the love triangle between Lucie, Charles and Sydney. But I thought Dickens mainly wanted to tell us the societyproblem and the background at that time.In this novel, Dickens wrote some lively images like Sydney and those crazyrevolutionaries. In this tale, we can’t see any absolute roles. Charles, though he was a brave and good man, obviously hehasn’t as much ability as Sydney. Sydney, a typical tragic man in novels, a man like him, usually has great ability—if hewants to do something, nobody can prevent him. But he usually has some weak points on characters and the most important thingis that he always loves a woman he shouldn’t love and 99.99% die for her at last in an extremely heroic or tragic way. Therevolutionaries in the tale is not as full of justice and poor as usual. They got mad when they can get revenge for theirunfair treatment. The fire of hatred burnt everything. When they were at the bottom of the society, they were calling forjustice, for fair treatment, for freedom, but when they were in charge of the society, their world is up-side-down, so ittheir judgment of the society. They hate everything that connected to the very people who were against them, even includingCharles’ wife, Dr Manette’s daughter. So these men are no difference than those former governors at heart. Though Dickenstold us how the authority is recycling over and over again in some way, the novel is about something good. Love from Sydneyto Lucie is one of the only few bright points in the novel and it’s really great. A man can sacrifice his life to save hislover’s husband. He does not have any personal purpose and just for his lover’s happiness. So Dickens may imply us, onlylove can solve the problems between people, between the poor and the rich, love is everything.

Time flies like an arrow before we realize it .It is known that nothing is more precious than time. The good old proverb time is money reminds us that time is valuable. When time goes by, it will never return. However, it is a pity that some people dont make full use of their time .They spend a lot of time in sleeping, chatting, playing computer games or other unmeaning matters. . They dont realize that wasting time is actually equal to killing themselves.

They always regret not having made great achievements. One of the reasons may be they do not make good use of time. Therefore, in order to be successful, they should first get into the habit of being on time. Its a sign of cherishing time. Dont put off what can be done today until tomorrow. Being lazy will eventually lead to failure. Dont wait, because you dont know how long it will take when you put off your plan.
