　　When early man invented clothes,he probably wanted to keep warm.I am sure he never intended that it should become as elaborate as it has become today.For many a year,traditional clothes and modern clothes have been in competition as to which of them make the wearer more beautiful.But it does seem that a lot of modern clothes are simpler and more practical.Perhaps we are moving back to the age of cavemen who wore clothes for practical purposes.

　　Modern clothes are definitely more practical as against traditional clothes.Almost all people now wear modern clothes.Nowadays even more and more people wear casual clothes.Jeans are everywhere except at formal parties.T-shirts are common,too.They look comfortable and fashionable.However,there are also a lot of people who take the trouble to dress well in formal clothes like shirts,trousers and suits.I find them smart,too.

　　But then,it is important to hold on to our topic.In my opinion,each type of dress has its place.Modern clothes are ideal for most situations,while casual clothes are worn more freely.As to traditional clothes,they must be worn for special occasions

　　When I was in kinder garden, I was very popular with my playmates because of my naughtiness. Once I made an arrow, with which I hurt one of my playmates and received scolding from my mother afterwards.

　　When I grew up, my father and mother dare not allow me to play outside. But sometimes when we had time they would bring me to the parks, movies and went swimming.

　　I like swimming very much. Thank them for teaching me swimming. I like to play with my friends because I was only a girl. My mother often scolded me when I didn't get home after school but never too severely.

　　I love my parents. I do think it is one of the best years in my whole life.

　　在我的記憶中，有過(guò)許多的比賽。例如：奧數(shù)比賽、語(yǔ)文比賽、作文比賽。可最讓我難忘的還是那次英語(yǔ)演講比賽。

　　記得四年級(jí)暑假的一天，我漫步在小區(qū)里。忽然，我發(fā)現(xiàn)小區(qū)的'報(bào)告亭上有一則廣告，上面說(shuō)我們小區(qū)里就要舉行一場(chǎng)英語(yǔ)演講比賽，有外國(guó)人過(guò)來(lái)聽(tīng)。地址：小區(qū)物業(yè)大廳內(nèi)�？赐曛螅要q豫不決：我到底去不去，如果去我英文不好，如果不去機(jī)會(huì)難得。

　　這時(shí)，我想起了媽媽的一句話：“不是所有的種子都必須要長(zhǎng)成參天大樹(shù)，但如果不努力，就不能破土而出，更不會(huì)長(zhǎng)成參天大樹(shù)。”于是，我徑直走向了物業(yè)的大門(mén)，報(bào)了名。我回到家以后和媽媽說(shuō)明了情況，媽媽二話不說(shuō)，幫我到圖文店里打印了資料，我拿起了資料，如饑似渴地讀了起來(lái)，因?yàn)楸荣惖臅r(shí)候是要脫稿的，所以我一有時(shí)間就拿出來(lái)練習(xí)。

　　比賽那天，我面帶微笑的對(duì)著一些外國(guó)人。我異常緊張，但又想：養(yǎng)兵千日用兵一時(shí)。我之前的努力不就是為了這一刻嗎？我絕對(duì)不能在這個(gè)關(guān)節(jié)點(diǎn)上掉鏈子。于是，我發(fā)揮超常。但是我的對(duì)手都是大人，所以我的成績(jī)一落千丈。

　　雖然這次我沒(méi)有得到名次，但是它讓我明白了一個(gè)道理：只有努力才是通向成功的捷徑。
