一、關(guān)于consumer的爭論
許多同學(xué)都說在寫作的時候如果要提到"客戶"這個詞，勢必要使用consumer。其理由中的邏輯如下：首先，consumer這個詞常常在真題閱讀中出現(xiàn)；而且在考研的圈子里頭大家都說如果你在寫作中能夠使用真題閱讀中出現(xiàn)過的單詞就一定給高分。
看似嚴(yán)密的邏輯其實(shí)有著很大的漏洞。如果按照這個邏輯推導(dǎo)，那么諸如a,the,one這樣的簡單詞匯不也在閱讀真題里比比皆是么?難道用了這樣的幾個詞也能夠讓你獲得高分?顯然這么思考是站不住腳的，所以我們需要真正理性對待這個詞的'替換問題。
那么問題又來了，備選項(xiàng)中存在client,purchaser和shopper（另外customer在重復(fù)頻度上已屬寫作中的垃圾詞匯，遂在此不予探討）這幾個詞當(dāng)中，到底誰是最佳人選。很多同學(xué)覺得purchaser是個十分高大上的詞匯，于是很多同學(xué)都選了這個。但是老師們在批改作文的過程中發(fā)現(xiàn)，相當(dāng)多的同學(xué)都喜歡使用這個詞，想必大家都認(rèn)為purchase本身就是個檔次較高的詞，那么它的派生詞也一定差不到哪里去。
這個問題巧就巧在大家都會這么想，有點(diǎn)類似于博弈論，大家都覺得可能的選項(xiàng)最終成為最不可能的一個。而大家覺得最不起眼的shopper卻絕對占到了便宜，成為了這類替換詞中的首選。因此建議大家能夠使用shopper一詞，在替換中一定能夠起到非常良好的效果。
二、Very的兄弟們
這個詞從我們開始學(xué)英語的時候就存在了，屬于我們的單詞量中元老級成員。但是在寫作中如果你用到了它，只能顯示你的詞匯量是多么地貧乏。
于是我們給出的替換詞是exceedingly和extremely.許多同學(xué)欣然接受，但是有的同學(xué)對此還是表示了擔(dān)憂，因?yàn)樗麄冇X得這兩個詞指稱的含義已經(jīng)遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)超越了表達(dá)"非常"的概念，說起來也不無道理，畢竟前者直譯為"過度地"而后者直譯為"極端地"。
但殊不知在閱卷人忙碌的掃眼中，他們往往來不及去斟酌這個層面的事情，更何況這樣替換本來就有其本身的合理性，即他們兩兩之間的意義是有交集的。不過如果你還是不放心，我們還可以使用pretty,rather,quite和fairly。
其中要注意這里的pretty并非形容詞"漂亮、可愛"的意思，而僅僅是一個程度副詞，其用法和功能與very高度一致，因此大家也可以在寫作練習(xí)中盡量多次、有意使用這個詞，一旦練熟了就不會覺得有什么問題了。
