Did you ever want to win first prize in a reading competition? Maybe or maybe not.But how would you feel if you thought you had done really well and then didn't? You would feel really awful…
On March 22 nd we had a reading competition in a high school. That day, I was very nervous about the competition. I thought and thought…..and I said to myself,Austin, don’t worry it will be fine. After a while, my mom took me to that high school.
When I got into the seat of the car, my stomach started to hurt, but I knew that sort of thing will happen all the time during a stressful event like a reading competition. Later, after a few hours had past, it was my turn to walk up to the stage and say my lines. But wait! I looked over and noticed the judge wasn't looking at me- it was if she didn't respect me! We learned how important eye contact is during our assembly.
After I finished, the guests gave me great praise. I thought I would have a good mark.Then came the time to give out the certificates. When the person read Frobel ElementaryI thought it was me…..but it was my classmate Cindy. She had received second place. Then they read the first prize and I was disappointed it wasn’t me. I was very sad…… but……
I must tell everyone in here, when you go to a competition win or lose you shouldn't care. You should care about whether or not you did your best. You need to ask yourself- Did you learn anything for entering this competition? Do you have the courage to read a story to a huge audience?

今天我們到青龍中學(xué)（六中）去參加雙語比賽，我到了以后發(fā)現(xiàn)同學(xué)們差不多已經(jīng)都到齊了。然后我們便自己準(zhǔn)備起了英語短文，這樣可以等待還沒有來的同學(xué)。等到同學(xué)們都來齊了，Ms yu便帶領(lǐng)我們進(jìn)去了。校園里邊特別漂亮，噴泉花壇、全塑膠跑道、參天大樹還有整齊的教學(xué)樓，我們帶隊(duì)的同學(xué)竟然被這美麗的風(fēng)景迷住了，差一點(diǎn)兒就帶著同學(xué)們走到操場(chǎng)上。但是幸虧Ms yu叫住了我們，然后我們圍成一個(gè)圈表演，李曉曷第一個(gè)，她上去以后背的非�？於抑形臎]背就想下去，被Ms yu一下退了回去背了中文，我是第二個(gè)上去的，我表情自如，動(dòng)作加的非常到位但是Ms yu說我聲音太小，語速太快。
終于工作人員過來說：“B組的同學(xué)比賽了，B組的趕緊過來！”我們排成兩隊(duì)走到大廳，然后工作人員點(diǎn)名，我是第6個(gè)。我們按順序排好隊(duì)后，就走進(jìn)了初一 九班，然后抽簽按順序號(hào)入座我15號(hào)、梅笑寒14號(hào)、宋淑涵13號(hào)和陳玥琦17號(hào)我覺得真的是太有緣了，第一組開始比賽了，是1—10號(hào)比賽。所以我們又等了漫長(zhǎng)的'幾十分鐘，終于輪到我們比賽了，我們進(jìn)入了比賽場(chǎng)地，這時(shí)我看到了一個(gè)男老師，兩個(gè)女老師，和一個(gè)女外教。夏侯楊子先上，他一上場(chǎng)就問了老師幾個(gè)問題特別搞笑，然后才開始背的……，終于到了我上場(chǎng)了，我站的筆直背的英文流利，中文標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，聲音洪亮的都可以聽見回音了，外教的問題也都全部答對(duì)了。所有的參賽選手都答的非常好，我們就退場(chǎng)了，我們出來以后Ms yu緊張的問我們答的怎么樣？我們都說答的很好，聽了我們的回答她的臉上露出了滿意的笑容…………等過了漫長(zhǎng)的1個(gè)小時(shí)，成績(jī)出來了，我得了97分！全組（35人）第一名！我當(dāng)時(shí)心里非常高興：我今天能取得這么優(yōu)異的成績(jī)，和Ms yu平時(shí)的辛勤輔導(dǎo)是分不開的，在這里我要感謝Ms yu！
希望我在復(fù)賽中，繼續(xù)取得優(yōu)異的成績(jī)！

Modern clothes are definitely more practical as against traditional clothes.Almost all people now wear modern clothes.Nowadays even more and more people wear casual clothes.Jeans are everywhere except at formal parties.T-shirts are common,too.They look comfortable and fashionable.However,there are also a lot of people who take the trouble to dress well in formal clothes like shirts,trousers and suits.I find them smart,too.

At first, they were competing happily, but as the game came to the end, the last group was so worried. The father inspired his kid to stick on and finish the match, while the kid was crying because he knew he must be the last. After the match, the father told his kid that winning was not the most important thing for the match, the first thing was to enjoy the game and finish it, the result was not that important.
I agree with the father, the child must be endowed with the consciousness that to enjoy the game is more important than to win. Every match can only have one win, but we can enjoy every match.

The contest was held at the playground last Saturday morning, 7:00a.m. The panel is made up of 5 English teachers from our school, all of whom were experienced. Moreover, a total number of 20 competitors came from we Grade 2. It was made a rule that the top 3 competitors would be awarded. It is a great competition and all the participants perform well. I was so lucky that I won the first place.

比賽開始了！我們班被分成了四組，每組四人，我被排在B隊(duì)。我們B隊(duì)選中我負(fù)責(zé)記錄物品，一個(gè)男老師分給了我紙和筆，開始報(bào)物品的英文，總共是10個(gè)單詞。我那時(shí)候的心情應(yīng)該是緊張加激動(dòng)吧，十種簡(jiǎn)簡(jiǎn)單單的物品，我卻有好幾個(gè)字不會(huì)寫，哎！真是太緊張了。
寫好清單后，接下來的活動(dòng)就有點(diǎn)像電視上的'“購物街”。我們B隊(duì)飛快地沖進(jìn)了物品區(qū)，開始分頭行動(dòng)，按著清單上的物品，我們順利地把十樣物品都找齊了，水彩筆、計(jì)算器、糖果……看來勝利就在眼前了。
緊接著我們隊(duì)進(jìn)入了最后一個(gè)階段就是歸還物品。趁A組還沒好時(shí)，我們隊(duì)把物品仔細(xì)對(duì)照了一遍，又把英文單詞念了一下，應(yīng)該是沒問題了。如果勝利女神對(duì)我們微笑，我們就可以到曼德沃超市去參加半決賽、決賽，那該有多好哇！
輪到我們了，我太緊張了，竟然把果凍單詞都讀錯(cuò)了，不過馬上就糾正過來了。比賽還在進(jìn)行中，我們隊(duì)順利地讀出了一個(gè)又一個(gè)的單詞，后來我們把所有的物品都?xì)w還給老師，比賽就結(jié)束了。覺得比賽時(shí)間好短，我感到好像還沒有玩夠似的。
最后，我們隊(duì)拿了第一名，這一刻，我們的美夢(mèng)突然實(shí)現(xiàn)了，我們隊(duì)可以進(jìn)入半決賽了！今天我好開心，我想我也會(huì)在半決賽中好好努力的。
